The Alhambra

Sunday 23rd November
So over the past few days I have posted pictures with a structure on the hill, that is the Alhambra and Generalife. Today was mainly spent in this area as it is not something to just kill 10 minutes in.
A walled area built and expanded over many Tapas meals. Some parts knocked down in the name of religion and rebuild in a different style. Initial structures built in 1237 to 1273. So we see remains of Islam that Catholics didn't destroy cause they got tired and got distracted, through to the Spanish renaissance in the 1500's.
To much history for me I just like looking at the architecture. WOW. We saw the Palaces where the Sultan's rested and I guess played with Sultana wives. Very impressive. The walled area also included relaxing gardens and terrific vege patches to potter in when bored.
A lot of walking and a great way to work of last night's meal.

Lots of pics as this was impressive.
