Lets drink Beaujolais. Salute (see I speak French now)

Wednesday 29th October.

Today we sail up the tributary Saone River for 3 hours. Leaves are changing colour and is very picturesque. Stop at Collonegs and on a bus. We are in the Beaujolais region and it is stunning. Somewhere around 1400 a number of French guys said I am board what should we do. Of course one suggested lets build a hilltop walled village. So we visited Oingt, probably the best little town we have visited so far. But we didn't come here to just see scenery, lets go taste Beaujolais.
Grape harvesting must be hell, the Gamy grape used are only 2 to 3 feet tall, it would be like picking strawberries. Called into a winery established in 1600 and still family run. Most enjoyable, onto the boat and back to Lyon.
