Sunday 19th October
Up early for flight to Nice. Then jumped onto a bus to Monte Carlo.
It is so magnificent driving into Monte and the hotel we are at, (Fairmont) not bad with great ocean views from out room and have a balcony with table and chairs. The air you breathe is free but that is about it. Never mind we will pretend we are rich and famous.
In front of the hotel is a couple of Lamborghini, a few Ferraris and I like the Bentley convertible. Also one Toyota Echo, guess someone else likes pretending.
We wander down to the harbour another cafe with wine and a large bowl of Mussels. How French is that!
Back to the hotel and spent a weeks salary on two drinks in the bar.
Monday 20th October
Thumping big breakfast, so as to get our moneys worth
We have today free before we join a tour group for the river boat cruise so it is the old town. See if I can add a couple more blisters to Carolyn's feet.
Non tourist season so not to crowded. Used one of those hop on hop off buses as it sure beats tackling the hills.
Tonight met the other 11 people who will be our sailing companions for the next 17 days. Great news, it has turned out to be a good group. Victorians, New South Welshmen and a couple from SA.
